Why Do Butterflies Seem So Joyous?

butterflies and personal developmentBecause They Left a Part of Themselves Behind…

There was a gorgeous butterfly floating around the plants on my patio yesterday and it was a truly joyous thing to watch as it floated and fluttered around from plant to plant – I always thought they should be called “flutter-bys” in my humble opinion.

And as I watched it flutter around I realized just how happy it must be to have finally left behind the old body which was tied to the ground and is now moving wistfully through the universe in a completely new form.

And of course I then thought how we too can also become like a butterfly and free ourselves from our dross old body and state of mind which weighs us down and keeps us in a state of unhappiness.

I am going back to the USA for Christmas and have spoken to several of my friends who are not in a very good place both financially and mentally.

There seems to be a common depression amongst the blue-collar workers I know, at least in Florida, and it’s unsettling for me to learn of their demise, unhappiness and utter despair.

So my philosophy will be to “live like a butterfly” and I will suggest to everyone to do whatever is required to change their world into a more joyous and light-filled place.

You do have the ability to change any situation when you release the fear and make a decision to change.

There are no limits to “buts” as in “but I don’t have any money” or “but I don’t have a college education” or even the “but I can’t leave my home”.

The reality is if your home is providing you with no options to find employment in your trade, then you basically have two options:

  1. Learn a new skill
  2. Move to somewhere you can apply your trade

I’m a big fan of learning new skills and I moved to the other side of the world, so my story should resonate with anyone who is sitting there in a state of absolute misery; get out and take a course or look for opportunities outside of your normal suburb/state/country.

butterfly change

The butterfly leaves the dross behind and learns to fly halfway through its life.

Use this humble creature as a model and impetus for you to make changes in your life no matter how old you are if you are not happy!

You can leave your doubts, worries and frustration behind and replace these unhealthy mental habits with healthy mental habits like faith, hope and joy.

You too can float and flutter your way to a new life when you release that which no-longer serves you…

Can Needles Change Your Life? They Have Mine…

chinese-five-element-acupuncture-nick-hiltonOK, so I’m talking about acupuncture – and in my case I’m specifically referring to the ancient art of Chinese Five Element acupuncture.

The original reason for me receiving this type of treatment is another story, suffice to say my gorgeous (and 6 month’s pregnant) younger sister is a student of this 5 element acupuncture and she wanted me to go through a specific series of treatments which I have now done.

The guy she found for me is an absolutely gifted gentleman and natural health scholar – Nick Hilton.

What was interesting to me about Nick, was while we are matched in vocabulary, we both have dramatically different professional strengths, and together we are a good team.

He was “internet challenged” by admittance, and I was “challenged by my nature” and we both were looking for a way to alleviate those issues.

So I offered to build him a website and he offered to work with me to achieve a state of well-being that I’ve never before experienced.

Regarding the direct results of our efforts, there is a fundamental, yet equally amazing, difference in the physical outcome of what we do as consultants.

I built the acupuncture website and you can visit it and interact with the content, watch a video etc.  It’s easy to show the physical result of my work.

Nick has a much more difficult challenge, because he is working with the human mind, body and energy.  He sticks needles into me than asks how I “feel”.

He must work with each individual in a completely unique way than I do, but both are equally valid.

Nick does not treat most clients using the Chinese 5 Element method of acupuncture because it is only used in very particular circumstances with certain individuals.

Nick was impressed that Rachel suggested he use this method on me and has kept up this “protocol” because he knows it is what needs to be used on me right now.  Rachel also proved to be a natural at feeling and drawing out energy, but that is another story as well.

On another level what we both do is quite difficult to explain or prove.

I know about back-linking and he knows about transferring energy from one needle to another via a metal cord.

I know back-linking can help websites get ranked higher and he knows that energy exchange from point to point needs to go in the correct direction or the opposite result may occur

In that instance, both of our knowledge is very nebulous and we rely on experience to suggest and deliver our services, so again we share an interesting situation as consultants.

Lastly, how did the needles change my life?

I fall into the “wood” element, and unfortunately for me that specific type of elemental person requires lots of “needlework” – you should know not all acupuncture treatments are actual needles being pushed into particular points on the body.

I’ve been going for treatments weekly or bi-weekly since May last year, and in about July, my world began to change in an amazing way for the better.

Clients started to spend money and referrals started to come in.  Financially, I had record months in September and October and I’m both absolutely grateful and excited at the same time.

Personally my close friends are now closer and the love flowing between my mother and sister is forging a closer bond than ever before – I live in Australia while my family lives in the US.

I’ve begun to let the loving energy in.

Nick helped me open the channels of power in my system, purging the negative and poisoned energy while promoting the flow of fresh love-filled energy to replace the stagnant, anger-fed crap.

Ultimately I’ve gained a personal health consultant, friend and future travel-mate (we are going to his dentist in Cambodia next year) to explore the world and find the best energies available…awesome!

Needles CAN change your life if you are open to the total experience…
