Book Review | The Intention Experiment by Lynne McTaggert
I am reading this book at the moment…
Lynne McTaggert’s latest book, The Intention Experiment, is a must read if you don’t believe any of this guff about thought having an effect on your experience of life. The 100’s of experiments referred to are enough to provide even the most hardened materialist food for thought.
The first ¾’s of the book are a meta-analysis of many of the experiments conducted around the globe, testing a myriad of ways of how thought can affect matter. I was amazed at the volume of physical tests carried out in some of these experiments, while other experiments were conducted over many years.
These experiments range from the Secret Life of Plants (read my post about this example of quantum entanglement) to how well trained monks can create gamma wave brain activity within 15 seconds of inducing meditation. There is a whole chapter dedicated to The Placebo Effect, and the amazing experiments conducted around this mysterious power of the mind (see my post on The Placebo Effect).
The last ¼ of the book is a description of what Lynne suggests as ways to get yourself ‘powered up’ and learn how to use your intention to assist her with The Intention Experiment, where Lynne chooses various types of tests that you can take part in. It is a demonstration of the power of intention in the real world. These experiments are still underway with the last one conducted on January 30th, 2010.
Lynne has shown there is hard scientific evidence which proves thought can have a effect on matter. The proof is in the book, so make sure to check it out after reading Dan Brown’s The Lost Symbol – see my book review post here.
