Here is a Real World Example of The Power of Intention
There are hundreds of modern books and articles that focus on this concept and many people believe Napoleon Hill, author of ‘Think and Grow Rich’, was the first person to espouse the theory that our intentions have an effect on our experience.
I found a white paper written in 1906, Thought Vibration Paper (89) which uses the terms ‘law of attraction’ and ‘power of thought’.
In fact, ancient esoteric literature, ranging from the Upanishads to the New Testament, describes how the knowledge of observing with intention was not only well understood, but fiercely guarded by those who knew how to use this mysterious power.
In my book, Reading Between the Lines, The Hidden Power of Language, I provide many instances, from my own experiences, which confirm the suppositions outlined in each chapter. This post describes one recent event and offers a real world example of how my observing with intention creates opportunities in my life.
In my day job, I manage an IT Training company, and much of my day-to-day efforts revolve around sales.
As part of a business development plan, I decided to leverage a relationship acquired through a networking group to re-engage with a client who hasn’t done business with us for over a year.
I met my contact for lunch and gave him the reasons why they should consider us as a supplier. He agreed to put forward his recommendations to the internal decision makers, and I offered to send an invitation to a private function as a way to begin the dialogue.
Several days later, before I sent the invite to my contact, we received an inbound call from someone at this institution asking us to quote on a number of training opportunities.
Now most rational-minded people, especially many men I know, would simply write this off as coincidence. They would argue there is no spooky stuff at play here…this was simply coincidental timing.
My growing understanding, of the effect of observing with intention, proves to me this was no coincidence. What’s even more exciting, is this type of experience is occurring more and more frequently in my life as I begin to accept (and expect) these outcomes.
Do you observe with expectation? Of course! We all do.
The real question is what do you expect the most; success or failure?
