Controlling Your Thoughts and Words

In the previous post about the relationship between the pineal gland and finding your third eye, I asked the question, “It’s been referred to as the “seat of the soul” by numerous individuals and mystical organizations.  What is it about this tiny gland intrigued the keepers of esoteric wisdom?”

Every great spiritual teacher I’ve researched has taught that control of both your thoughts and actions is essential to gain access to the Third Eye.

If the pineal gland produces melatonin, serotonin and dopamine, it is responsible for your sense of joy, happiness and contentment.  So what esoteric wisdom does this impart?  How do you use your Third Eye?

How many people do you know who are joyous, happy and content most of the time?

Are you?  Of course, I’m not either, but I’ve learned, with practice to become much better at controlling my outbursts of frustration.  Although the secondary, and more important outcome of learning to control your thoughts and actions is, you realize you ARE in control.  This is the esoteric lesson!

It sounds silly at first, but many people I interact with don’t feel in control of their situation in life at all.  Life is shoved at them from the outside and they constantly live in a reactive state…always one step behind.

Learning to control my thoughts and action has given me two things:

1. The ability to not waste valuable emotional energy on things out of my control

2. The realization that I have a right to be angry about certain things

The concept of mental control takes many forms throughout history and across the world.  Anything from Kung Fu, to Yoga to Transcendental Meditation to Witchcraft are all variations of this important esoteric wisdom.

Each of these esoteric schools has rigorous training one must undergo before achieving the next level of consciousness.

And each also has a form of defense against attack.  However, there is much wisdom in knowing when to defend and when to retreat.

It is taught that gaining access to the next level of consciousness is by opening the Third Eye.  So is the pineal gland the portal to the next dimension as so many cultures have known but kept secret?
