Response to “Shit Happens! And How to Deal With It…

This is a response to my post yesterday, though the content was written quite awhile ago.

I felt it prudent to let you know the universe tested me and my post today.  I’ve been having some troubles with my car recently, so I took it to the mechanic today for a ‘major service’.

Of course I get the phone call mid morning letting me know what they found…dunh…dunh…dunhhhh…

”I’m afraid Mr. Chappell, the diagnosis is not good.  The brakes, the crankshaft, the this the that…we’re looking at around $2000.00”

rust bucketAs you can imagine, it was quite a negative kick to my day.  Remembering the blog post from the previous night, I stopped and smiled.  I was being tested.  So I asked a few questions and came to the positive conclusion it was worth the $2000 worth of repairs.

Why?

Because my plan had simply been to give the car a quick fix, then trade it. I expected the fix to cost me $1000 and with an additional $2000 in taxes, transfer fees, etc.  So, I’ve tried to deal with the ‘shit’ and find a positive outcome to this unexpected expense.

The reality is I do enjoy driving the car, and wasn’t looking forward to trading it in. So in fact, I’m $1000 better off and keeping the car I prefer to drive.  I hope this didn’t waste your time, as I’m just sharing with you that I follow my own advice…;)

Shit Happens! And How to Deal With it…

Shit Happens!

This statement is much deeper than appears at first glance.  It doesn’t matter who you are, at some point a major challenge will appear in your life.  The true mystic understands this, and prepares for these experiences by using the power of acceptance, gratitude and personal enlightenment.

I know this might sound crazy, but the next time you find yourself in a traffic jam, be grateful for the experience.  Be grateful that you have some private time to visualize your next great achievement, or be grateful you will soon be home to a wonderful dinner, or be grateful the a/c works in your car.

If you have lost your job due to economic reasons you cannot control, then be grateful for the time you have to learn new skills.  Take advantage of the situation!  Do not marinate in your own misery by focusing on how difficult your life seems to be.

No matter how bad you have it right now, there are billions of people who are worse off, so always try to look for the opportunities to grow no matter your situation.  Look for the best in all things and you will start to experience the best of all things.

Once you accept and are thankful for your current situation, even if it is not your preferred situation, you will begin to see opportunities appear that otherwise would be unexplainable!  These will be opportunities for growth and opportunities for cleansing.

You Can Run but You Can’t Hide

In The Key, Dr. Joe Vitale presents many possible methods an individual might use to cleanse themselves of unwanted situations.  One path to cleansing suggests if you are not happy with your current life, then stop and focus on the things that do bring you joy.  Then ask for more of that stuff to come into your experience.

LighthouseInstead of putting your focus on creating a new life because you hate the life you have, focus instead on what is good about your life now and settle any ongoing disputes amicably.  Remove yourself from any situations you find unacceptable in the most honorable fashion, and be thankful for those experiences and the personal growth they provided.

You cannot escape your own reality!

It will chase you down and find you again and again, because you are the one creating it.  The universe and its laws are tricky and sometimes appear quite inverse to our current, western mindset, especially at the quantum level

Do not try to change the world.  You will fail.

Focus on changing yourself to bring a more positive and grateful attitude into your daily existence and you will have stepped onto a lifelong path of discovery and amazing opportunities.
